We need a better choice for our union
As an independent union, the Skagit County Employees Alliance (SCEA) will be the most effective advocate for what our transit employees want and need. Our members have been representing Skagit Transit employees for years and know how to work for our employees better than Council 2 ever will.
SCEA will give us a powerful voice, focused solely on Skagit Transit employees' needs and free from the control of Council 2 and its interests. Council 2 takes your dues and does not fulfill its obligations. SCEA will offer better union representation at a fraction of the cost.

Your current union
AFSCME Council 2, Local 176T
Takes 1.36% of your salary for membership dues, most of which goes directly to AFSCME headquarters in Washington DC. This money is spent on politics, lobbying and fat salaries.
Unresponsive to our needs, undermining productive employee-employer dialogue and impedes the achievements of a harmonious work-life balance.
Corporate and impersonal union model that treats us all as just a number and lacks respect and knowledge of our contract.
Silences members who have different opinions and doesn't value us beyond a source for union dues.

Lower membership dues but offering real representation and accessibility. Dues will remain local and will not be transferred to Washington DC.
